Beijing: A father in China took somewhat cruel measures to end his son’s video game playing habit, to which the son agreed to minimal screen time.
A man in China forced his 11-year-old son to play video games non-stop for 17 hours straight until he cried and promised to limit screen time, according to the World News Agency.
This matter started when the father, worried about the child’s habit, saw his son playing video games even at 1:30 in the night, despite repeated prohibitions and explanations.
The man, named Huang, got his son out of bed and asked him to sit in a chair and ordered him to continue playing video games, forcing him to continue playing the games.
Within a few hours, the child became bored. He was very sleepy and hungry but the father did not let him move until the child began to vomit due to hunger, sleep and fatigue.
The son apologizes to the father and promises not to play video games before bed. There was also an ‘agreement’ between father and son regarding screen time.
Huang also made a short video of the incident and uploaded it on social media, which received mixed reactions from users. Some called the father’s action cruel, while others called it necessary.
