An explosion has occurred in a local market in Zangara Khadrakhil area of South Waziristan, as a result of which two children have died.
Locals claim that the alleged explosion was a drone attack, but the administration has not yet confirmed anything in this regard.
The two children who died in the alleged drone attack around 6 pm have been identified as Shahidullah and Ilham. whose ages are 4 and 5 years respectively.
Both were shifted to Sara Roga Hospital with serious injuries, but they died on the way.
Sources say that it was not one but two drone attacks, the second drone attack was carried out near Makin Bazar.
“It is not clear that this is a drone attack, but we are investigating the incident further,” a senior government official in the area told the Khorasan Daily news agency after reviewing the ground situation.
He also confirmed the casualties.
Locals say drones are still in the air, and their voices can be heard.
In the local language, these drones are called bangana, which means something that makes a “bang bang” sound.
Residents of the area say that they recognize these sounds very well, because during the period of American drone strikes, they could not even sleep due to these sounds.
According to sources, these drones can be easily seen in daylight in the skies of South Waziristan.
It should be noted that the series of drone attacks in Pakistan began on June 18, 2004, while the last drone attack was carried out almost four years ago in July 2018.
