Balochistan High Court restrains Election Commission from holding by-election on NA 265 - Pakistan

Quetta: The Balochistan High Court stopped the Election Commission from holding by-elections on NA-265.

While suspending the notification of holding by-elections in constituency NA-265, the court has also stopped the Election Commission from holding elections for women’s seats in the National Assembly.

It should be noted that a constitutional petition was filed in the Balochistan High Court on behalf of former Deputy Speaker National Assembly and leader PTI Qasim Suri and Munora Baloch.

Qasim Suri and Munora Baloch had contested the election on NA-265 on the supplementary and woman-reserved seats.

The application was heard by Chief Justice Balochistan High Court Justice Naeem Akhtar Afghan and Justice Aamir Rana.
