French President Macron has said that to stand by the controversial statement regarding Taiwan, being an ally of the United States does not necessarily mean being “subservient” to it.
Addressing a press conference in Amsterdam with Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte, he said that being an ally does not necessarily mean subjugation. It does not mean that we have no right to think for ourselves. France is in favor of keeping the status quo in Taiwan and wants a peaceful solution to the situation.
Trump’s interview on Taiwan was hailed as “excellent” by China but rejected by the US.
It should be noted that former US President Donald Trump said that Macron, who is my friend, is now with China and is bowing to it.
Marketers responded by saying they did not want to comment on Trump’s comments because they have been involved in the escalation of tensions.
On the other hand, Dutch Prime Minister Rutte said that he agrees with the statement of the leaders that Europe should be a player instead of a playground. When it comes to security and freedom, America should be its indispensable partner.
