According to a report by Webetainfo, WhatsApp engineers were working on this feature for Android mobile since last month. And now it is ready but it is still being tested.

Initially the status update report feature will be available to some beta testers after installing the latest beta version of the app and is expected to roll out to more users in the coming days.

A new ‘report’ option will soon appear in beta testers’ status updates, the report says. This feature allows users to report status updates that violate WhatsApp’s rules.

Once reported, the status will be forwarded to WhatsApp’s dedicated moderation team. who will decide whether the status reported actually violates the rules or not.

WhatsApp will work even without internet

If the reported status is indeed found to be in violation of the rules, the user who posted the status will first be warned and may then have their account suspended or terminated.

According to experts, Status ‘Report’ will secure end-to-end encryption of all WhatsApp features (messages, media, location sharing, calls and status updates) across all devices.
