CTD foils terror plot in Punjab - Pakistan

Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) has foiled a terrorist plot in Punjab, 8 suspected terrorists have been arrested from 4 cities including Lahore.

According to the Counter-Terrorism Department, CTD arrested 8 terrorists during operations in different cities of Punjab.

Akhtar Nawaz belonging to banned TTP and Mohammad Usman of Daesh were arrested from Lahore.

While 4 terrorists were arrested from Gujranwala, DG Khan and one each from Bahawalpur, the terrorists belong to banned organizations.

According to CTD, among the arrested terrorists are Fawadullah, Faqir Muhammad, Asif Nawaz, Ziaur Rahman, Atiq Ahmed and Bashir.

Explosive materials, hand grenades and literature were recovered from the possession of the arrested terrorists while 6 cases were registered against the accused and the action was started.

According to CTD, terrorists were arrested during interrogation of 21 suspects during combing operations.

402 combing operations were conducted across Punjab this week and 118 suspects were arrested.
