The Anti-Terrorism Court of Lahore has reserved its decision on the request of former Prime Minister Imran Khan to appear through video link in 3 different cases.
Anti-terrorism court held a hearing on interim bail applications against Imran Khan in 3 different cases. Deputy Prosecutor General Abdul Jabbar Dogar appeared on court summons.
The court inquired that the decision of the Supreme Court is that if the situation is like this, attendance can be done on video link, what is your objection?
The Deputy Prosecutor General said that give me 10 to 15 minutes, I will assist the court, if I get any reference against the decision of the Supreme Court, I will present it.
The court asked the Deputy Prosecutor General whether the level of danger is the same as Imran Khan’s lawyer is telling.
On which the Deputy Prosecutor General said that there is no danger to Imran Khan according to the police file.
The judge said that you are saying that the threat level is not what the other party expressed? On this the prosecutor said that according to my knowledge it is not so.
Imran Khan’s lawyer Barrister Salman Safdar said that we have complete information, history should not be given a chance to repeat itself, Benazir Bhutto incident is in front.
The judge said that murder suspects come to us, they are more dangerous than that, your security had allegedly pointed their weapons at the local police, if Imran Khan wants to enjoy the right to life. Compromise on the right to freedom of movement.
The lawyer said that Imran Khan was hit by bullets.
On the inquiry of the court, the public prosecutor said that Imran Khan’s MLC was formed but it should have been formed from Wazirabad.
The court said that an inclusive investigation does not mean that once a statement is recorded, it is over, an inclusive investigation means that it is necessary to appear when called by the police.
The court reserved the decision on Imran Khan’s request for attendance through video link.
