The process of the first day of digital census in Karachi has been delayed due to lack of attention of the government.
The digital census has started across the country from today with the support of NADRA, Provincial Governments and National Technology Council on behalf of the National Statistical Institute.
According to the sources, despite all the resources, due to the government’s indifference, not even 20% of the work could be done on the first day of the census in Karachi.
Sources say that technical problems have also been revealed in the tablets given by the government while the field staff could not get police security due to which 80 percent of the staff were not present in the field.
Talking to the news today, the field staff said that we were not provided full security by the police and the tablets given for the census were also hanging during use.
Assistant Commissioner Gulbarg Town Dadan Lashari admitted that today was the first day of census and therefore faced problems.
