Elon Musk’s brain-machine interface company Neuralink has been granted permission to implant computer chips in the human brain.
According to the Chinese news agency, Elon Musk’s brain-machine interface company Neuralink has announced that the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved the experiment of installing computer chips in the human brain.
The company tweeted that this is the result of the incredible work of the Neuralink team in close collaboration with the FDA and reflects an important initiative that will allow our new technology to help many people.
The company claims that implanting the chip in the human skull can restore organ function, improve human movement, solve vision and hearing problems, and help with diseases like Parkinson’s.
Neuralink was founded in 2016 and was primarily funded by Musk to develop a new type of interface technology between the human brain and computing devices.
