According to the statement released by the police, the governor of Negros Oriental province, Ruel Degamo, and other officials were shot dead at Degamo’s house in the town of Pamplona.
According to the police, 6 armed men dressed in local force uniforms entered the governor’s house and opened fire. The governor’s widow has confirmed that six people, including her husband, were shot.
According to the report, the injured were shifted to a nearby hospital where doctors confirmed the death of all the persons.
