Abdul Rahman, who will be the head coach of the national team for the series against Afghanistan in Sharjah, has expressed hope that in the absence of top players, he will give more opportunities to youngsters.
Addressing a press conference in Lahore, he said that it is an honor for me to be the head coach of Pakistan for the series and he will try his best to help Pakistan win. Important players of Afghanistan like Rashid Khan, Mujeebur Rehman, Najeebullah Zadran, Rehmanullah Garbaz, Naveen ul Haq have recently played in Pakistan Super League (PSL) and Pakistan players know them well.
He said that Shadab Khan and Naseem Shah are experienced and will prove to be trump cards for the team.
He was the coach of Multan Sultans in the PSL and although he did not pick Abbas Afridi, who took the most wickets in the event, Abdul Rahman hoped that if he continues to work hard, the fast bowler will represent Pakistan soon. .
Abdul Rahman admitted that Afghanistan have a good spin attack that could prove dangerous in Sharjah, their home ground, but Pakistan’s batting line-up is also in form.
