The storm of inflation in Pakistan could not stop, the price of essential goods increased further in February.
The inflation rate in Pakistan in the month of February reached 31.55 percent with an increase of 4.32 percent, the average rate of inflation in the 8 months of the current financial year was recorded at 26.19 percent.
According to the Institute of Statistics, in February, chicken became more expensive by 19.8%, cooking oil by 17.2%, ghee by 16.5%, fruits by 15.1%, vegetables by 14% and cigarettes by 15.6%. According to the report, in one month the price of pulses, chickpeas and gram flour increased by 11%, dal mash by 10.3%, rice by 9.5%, potato by 4.1% and milk by 2.2%.
The government hiked gas prices by 62.8 percent and petroleum products by 35.5 percent in February.
According to the FBS report, onions became cheaper by 17.1%, tomatoes by 11%, flour by 3.7%, wheat and eggs by 3.2%.
The report states that since February 2022, the price of onion has increased by 416%, chicken by 96%, eggs by 78% and rice by 77%. Dal has increased by 50.7% and edible oil by 50.66%.
The Bureau of Statistics has stated in its report that the transport fares have increased by 33% during one year.
