An intelligence-based operation was conducted on the suspected hideouts of terrorists on Boghra Road in Balochistan’s Chaman region.
In a statement issued by the Public Relations Department of the Pakistan Army (ISPR), it was stated that this operation was against those responsible for the recent firing incidents on law enforcement agencies and civilians in the Chaman area.
The said terrorists were also involved in the activities of planting improvised explosive devices.
Spokesperson of Pakistan Army said that as a result of continuous technical surveillance and close monitoring of the area, the location of terrorists was identified and security forces were also involved along with Counter Terrorism Organization (CTD).
The terrorists had already escaped, but a large cache of arms and ammunition, including rockets, improvised explosive devices and other accessories, was recovered.
This recovery of weapons will help in curbing overt terrorist activities in some urban areas like Quetta.
The statement added that the Pakistan Army is determined to thwart efforts to sabotage the peace, stability and development of Balochistan along with the nation.
