Minister of Energy and leader of Muslim League (N) Khurram Dastgir says that it is written in the constitution that the power of Pakistan will not be in the hands of the supreme judges but in the hands of the elected representatives.
Speaking in Aaj News program “Faisla Aap Ka”, Khurram Dastgir said that it is premature to speak of contempt of court, this matter is between the Election Commission and the Supreme Court, the Election Commission has a heavy responsibility to conduct elections, the Constitution Article 224 mentions a clause of 90 days, but if they read the entire article, other issues are also mentioned in it.
He said that the Cabinet approved the position of the Ministry of Defence, Treasury, the Cabinet sent the matter to the Election Commission, we will present our position in the Supreme Court.
Regarding contempt of court against Shehbaz Sharif, Khurram Dastgir said that it would be wrong to accuse him of contempt of court. This matter goes from the Election Commission to the Cabinet and the Prime Minister. .
