Federal Finance Minister Senator Ishaq Darne has said that matters will be settled soon with the IMF for the improvement of the economy, Pakistan will not go bankrupt.
He expressed these views while addressing an event at the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce. Ambassador of Turkmenistan Atajan Molamov, Ambassador of Kazakhstan Yerzhan Kistafan, Ambassador of Azerbaijan Khizr Farhadov, Ambassador of Kyrgyzstan Ulanbek Totoyo, Ambassador of Turkey Dr. Mehmet Pachaji, Ambassador of Indonesia Adam M. Togyu and Ambassador of Syria Dr. Ramiz Al-Rai, including Saudi Arabia, Ambassadors from Australia, Malaysia, Poland, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus and other countries were present.
The finance minister said that after cooperation with Pakistan by friendly countries, matters with the IMF will be settled soon, which will help to overcome the current difficulties and the economy will move towards recovery. In 2016, Pakistan was the 24th largest economy in the world and we were thinking of joining the G20, but currently our economy is facing serious economic challenges.
He said that Pakistan will not go bankrupt and the government is doing everything possible to put the economy on the path of sustainable development.
On this occasion, President of Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry Ahsan Zafar Bakhtawari said that the continuity of economic policies is necessary for the better promotion of business and investment, it is hoped that the government will pay special attention to this. The business community will fully cooperate with the government in efforts to restore the economy.
Former Federal Minister Tariq Fazal Chaudhary said that the government is determined to create ease of doing business and hoped that the current difficult situation will be overcome soon with the efforts of the government.
Fad Waheed, Senior Vice President of the Chamber, said that Pakistan needs to promote exports rapidly to improve its economy and expressed the expectation that foreign diplomats would fully cooperate with Pakistan in this regard.
