In the meeting presided over by the Chief Election Commissioner regarding the election, the Defense Secretary said that Pakistan Army personnel cannot be provided for the security of the elections, rather the Pakistan Army can only be provided as a quick response force.
Meetings were held in the Election Commission under the chairmanship of Chief Election Commissioner Sikander Sultan Raja. In which a briefing was given on security arrangements in Punjab.
According to the Election Commission announcement, IG Police and Chief Secretary Punjab apologized for providing foolproof security for the election on April 30.
The Chief Secretary said that it is not possible to conduct fair and transparent elections in the current situation.
The IG said that the deployment of Pakistan Army personnel along with the police is very important for the election.
The Defense Secretary briefed the Election Commission on the security situation across the country.
Defense Secretary said that security of borders and country is the first priority for Pakistan Army. Military personnel cannot provide security for elections. Can provide personnel only as Quick Response Force.
