A couple married for 25 years in Peshawar allegedly shot each other dead over a bitter argument.

The tragic incident took place in Shahab Khel within Budh Bir police station, the police said that Bakshish, the son of Haji Muslim, shot and seriously injured his wife named Musmaat, while the injured wife shot her husband in return fire. Killed on the spot.

Meanwhile, the woman who was injured as a result of the firing died in the local hospital.

The police have started investigating the incident as they suspect that the son may be involved in killing his own father to avenge his mother’s death.

After the incident, the police have recovered a Kalashnikov, a pistol and empty shells from the house, while the bodies of the victims have been shifted to a local hospital for post-mortem.

A case has been registered on the complaint of Bakshish’s son Khan Zeib, in which the incident has been described as ‘cross firing’ and a team under the supervision of DSP Budh Bir Imtiaz Alam has been formed for investigation.

The police said that the forensic report of the weapons recovered from the crime scene would help in identifying the real accused.
