In Peshawar, the prices of vegetables and fruits suddenly increased before Ramadan, which were out of reach of the people.
Banana price increased from Rs 270 to Rs 320 a dozen, pomegranate rose to Rs 390 per kg from Rs 360, while Malta rose to Rs 430 from Rs 410.
According to the shopkeepers, all the fruits are brought from other districts, then the prices of fruits have increased due to the increase in the price of petrol, while the prices of fruits have doubled this year compared to last year.
Citizens said that looking at the rate at which the price of fruits is increasing, it seems that fruit chaat will disappear from the Ramadan table.
