The petition filed by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) against Chief Secretary and IG Punjab in Lahore High Court has been fixed for hearing.
In the application of Azhar Siddique Advocate, the stand has been adopted that the Chief Secretary and IG have reneged on the statement given in the Lahore High Court on February 10, action should be taken against them. The Election Commission, Caretaker Government of Punjab, Chief Secretary and IG Punjab were made parties in the petition.
Justice Shujaat Ali Khan has fixed the hearing of the application on Monday. It has been stated in the petition that the Chief Secretary, IG Punjab had assured cooperation, now both the officers have retracted their statement, under the constitution, the institutions are bound to assist the Election Commission.
In the petition, the court was requested to take action against the Chief Secretary and the IG, the court ordered the Chief Secretary and the IG to give full cooperation.
