The process of identifying the people who attacked the police in Zaman Park has been accelerated, while the number of arrested workers of Tehreek-e-Insaf has increased to 48.
On March 15, there was a clash between the police team and workers who went to Zaman Park to arrest Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan. Meanwhile, the workers had resisted in Zaman Park, after which violent incidents were also witnessed. However, now the police have started the process of identifying those involved in stone pelting and vandalism in Zaman Park.
According to the police, the accused have been identified from mobile, cameras, CCTV footage. Once identified, the nomination process is being initiated in the cases.
Police say clear photographs of the faces of 700 workers have been obtained. Photographs will be sent to NADRA for further identification, data.
Police say that after complete identification, the accused will be named in 4 cases.
After the clash between the police and PTI workers outside Zaman Park, the series of arrests is also continuing. The number of arrested workers of Tehreek-e-Insaf has reached 48.
The police shifted 17 workers to Garhi Shahu police station, 7 to Qila Gujarsingh while 20 workers are locked up in Badami Bagh police station.
The arrested workers belong to Lahore, Azad Kashmir, Wahari, Ahmedabad and Sheikhupura.
