The Lahore High Court has sought a response from PEMRA on the request to prevent the media from broadcasting the statements of the leader of the Muslim League (N) Nawaz Sharif.
Justice Shahid Karim of Lahore High Court heard the request of Azhar Siddique Advocate to prevent the broadcast of Nawaz Sharif’s statements on the media.
The court, seeking a response from PEMRA on the request, directed Deputy Attorney General Asad Bajwa to appear with instructions.
The petitioner’s lawyer said that Nawaz Sharif is a convicted and judicial ad, PEMRA has imposed a ban on the broadcast of Nawaz Sharif’s speeches in 2020, despite the ban, Nawaz Sharif’s statements are being broadcast on the media, PEMRA on this issue. No action is being taken.
In the petition, it was requested that the court should order the implementation of the decision to ban the speeches of Nawaz Sharif, the court should order to stop the broadcasting of Nawaz Sharif’s speeches.
