Jamiat Ulema Islam (JUI)F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman has said that a politician is not afraid of going to jail as much as Imran Khan is. Chief Justice (retd) Saqib Nisar and Faiz Hameed are still lobbying for Imran Khan.
While giving a press conference in Islamabad, Maulana Fazlur Rehman said that Imran Khan is lying at home saying that he is not at home. Workers are locked up to avoid the law. A person is known to say something in the morning and something in the evening, he has no vision. A politician is not as afraid of going to jail as Imran Khan is.
He said that Chief Justice (retired) Saqib Nisar and Faiz Hameed are still lobbying for Imran Khan. Institutions should take notice of this situation and curb it.
Maulana Fazlur Rehman said that there is unrest in the country, we will not be able to go to many areas during the election campaign. Whether the police and institutions have the capacity to provide security in the election, the law enforcement agencies also have to look at the situation.
The JUIF chief said that the question is where Imran’s four-year government has taken our country. It brought the country to a place where the poor are not getting bread. In such a situation, there is talk of spending 80 billion rupees on the election.
Maulana Fazlur Rehman said that the judicial notice is surprising. According to us, not 2 and 3, but 4 and 3 is the decision. Legal experts give a bold opinion on this.
Regarding the by-elections of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, he said that there are no two assemblies at present and the time for dissolution of both is not the same, the schedule is also not the same. No single official has the authority to give the schedule.
The JUAIF chief said that the census is being conducted and the elections of the two assemblies will be based on the old census. Many new voters will be disenfranchised, whether the assemblies are dissolved by the Chief Ministers or at the behest of a political leader. It is surprising that the Supreme Court automatically took notice of why the election is not being held. It was the Supreme Court that instructed Musharraf to hold elections in three years and today they are ordering elections in ninety days.
He said that today the IMF is making our budget, making the State Bank unaccountable to the government. The situation is such that wherever we go, the IMF becomes an obstacle, the government of Pakistan wants to settle matters through negotiations.
