Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif says that it is unfortunate for the President to send back the Supreme Court Practice and Procedure Bill approved by the Parliament.
A federal cabinet meeting was held under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, in which Shehbaz Sharif presided over a video link, and the meeting lasted for two hours.
The current political situation in the country was reviewed in the meeting, while the Supreme Court Practice and Procedure Bill was sent back and the role of the President was condemned.
On this occasion, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said that the role of the President has become like that of a worker of PTI, sending back the bill approved by the Parliament is unfortunate, the President should abide by the Constitution and the law.
According to PML-N sources, a decision could not be taken in the meeting of the federal cabinet to release funds for the Punjab elections, the cabinet is hesitant on two decisions of the Supreme Court.
Sources said that members in the meeting insisted on holding elections on the same day across the country, and it was decided to widen the consultation on whether or not to release funds to the Election Commission, suggested by some cabinet members. It was said that half of the funds should be released, because releasing the funds will not violate the order of the Supreme Court.
The Cabinet deliberated on the Judicial Reforms Bill at yesterday’s joint session of Parliament, and the Cabinet was asked to ensure attendance at tomorrow’s Joint Session of the Parliamentary Party.
