Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, while launching the first nationwide anti-polio campaign of this year, has expressed his determination that this epidemic will be completely controlled soon with joint efforts.

Addressing the anti-polio campaign ceremony in Islamabad, the Prime Minister said that there is no doubt that Pakistan is still among the few countries in the world where polio is endemic. There are cases of polio, a few years of murder, the time also came when polio was completely eradicated in Pakistan during the reign of Nawaz Sharif. During this period, 20 cases of polio have been reported in Waziristan, but the epidemic has not spread and it has been limited there. I pay tribute to the workers who sacrificed their lives for this great cause, their services will always be remembered in history.

He said. That I am sure that all the provincial governments together with the federal governments will fight this epidemic with all diligence and forever.

The Prime Minister said that there was definitely a wave of concern in the whole of Pakistan when the polio cases came out again, the Bill Gates Foundation, an international organization, is with us in the anti-polio campaign. Health and other stakeholders are cooperating.

He said that 'I had a talk with Bill Gates a few days ago and he is determined to cooperate with Pakistan in the anti-polio campaign. Yes, I am grateful to our health works, including international organizations, who are fulfilling their duty with full diligence. May the polio epidemic leave this country forever and never dare to return.

He hoped that the Ministry of Health, Provincial Governments, all stakeholders With the joint efforts of the holders and the forces of Pakistan, we will inshAllah control polio completely and very soon.
