Governor State Bank says that we will not mind if importers arrange dollars, they are allowed to arrange imports with their own dollars.

Speaking at the Federation of Pakistan Chamber of Commerce and Industries (FPCCI), Governor State Bank Jameel Ahmad said that due to current account deficit we had to take some steps.

He said that 'We have asked the banks to give priority to pharmaceutical goods, to give priority to energy related import and export industries so that they can continue their business and negative on imports.

Governor State Bank said that in addition to facilitating imports for the agricultural sector, exports will take place when the projects related to exports are completed. so that exports can start as a result, while the plan is to facilitate imports as more dollars come in.

Jameel Ahmad said that import decisions have to be made only by looking at dollars because we do not have dollars at the local level. Therefore, if dollars come through foreign exchange and exports, we facilitate our business.

Governor State Bank assured the business community that the problems of entrepreneurs are our priority.

He expressed regret and said that business community is having negative impact on business, their suggestions will be prioritized, 33 thousand letters of credit (LCs) cases have been cleared, enough to check letters of credit.
