Flour mills owners of Karachi have announced to stop the supply of flour from March 2 today, Thursday, in protest against the irregularities and misbehavior of the administration.
On behalf of Chairman Flour Mills Association Sindh Chaudhry Amir, speaking to the media on Wednesday 1st March, it was said that they will not supply flour in Karachi from today.
The Food Department has sealed four flour mills in Karachi and three in Sindh on false allegations.
He further said that they are being asked to sell flour at non-government rates after giving full quota of bad and wheat, which is blackmailing.
On the other hand, the district administration has abolished the condition of showing identity card for citizens to buy cheap flour in Jhang city of Punjab. Sale points have also been increased across the city to ensure supply of cheap flour to the people.
The District Food Controller has said that in this way people will not have to stand in long queues. Supply of cheap flour will be ensured in Ramadan.
